AP Accountant

Our client is a prominent owner-operator in the retail sector, dedicated to creating premium shopping destinations across Europe. They focus on offering exceptional shopping experiences by integrating a mix of international and local brands. They are currently looking for an AP Accountant to join their team at the head office in Schiphol.

Our client is looking for an AP Accountant to manage the accounts payables process for Group-level entities in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing intercompany recharges, interest postings, and loan confirmations;
• Compiling budget-to-actual reports for departmental cost centers;
• Ensuring smooth and efficient processing of supplier payments;
• Preparing VAT reports and supporting general ledger entries;
• Handling purchase orders and vendor management support;
• Conducting accounts payable and receivable reconciliations;
• Managing cashflow and cashflow forecasting;
• Performing bank reconciliations.

The ideal candidate is highly numerate, has strong accounting skills and a strong commercial awareness.

Other requirements include: 

• Capable of working both individually and as part of a team;
• BS/MS degree (HBO/WO) in Finance or Accounting; 
• Technical accounting knowledge and experience;
• Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure;
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
• Fluent in English and able to read Dutch (Level B1).
