Finance Director (Netherlands)

We are recruiting for this position on the Dutch market and need candidates with a strong background in Finance Transformation and leading financial departments on full P&L level. Native Dutch language skills, as well as full proficiency in English is a MUST have! Additional European languages like German or French are a benefit!

Our client is a listed private equity holding company, which acquires medium-sized companies. They have a strong base throughout Europe and their portfolio companies show significant operational improvement potential and are sold after undergoing a repositioning and stabilization process. This transformation is guided by a senior team of professionals, mostly with strong corporate experience or who come from top tier consulting firms.

The company supports its portfolio companies with its own investment and consulting teams and through strategic add-on acquisitions. The focus is on companies with revenues of EUR 100 million to EUR 750 million from the segments Automotive & Mobility, Engineering & Technology, Goods & Services and Retail & Food. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.

Within the OPS team, we are looking to hire a leader who has a successful track record in Finance with a continuous improvement attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset. This role will be located at portfolio companies, focused on the Dutch market. Travelling to other European locations may also be required from time to time, mainly planned on Monday-Thursday timelines.

Your Tasks:

• Routinely lead the finance workstream and/or finance organisation on site
• Fill interim CFO or Finance Director positions and work closely with the local CEO/CRO during the turnaround process of the portfolio company
• Understand and analyse the core drivers of the business, develop financial turnaround concepts and lead the end-to-end implementation of the concepts
• Prepare integrated financial plans and lead forecasting and budgeting processes
• Implement and improve sound cash management processes and manage liquidity needs on site
• Prepare and execute financing solutions (factoring, asset-based funding, credit lines)
• Manage and improve the relationship to external stakeholders (auditors, financial advisers, banks, credit insurer, etc.)

• At least 7 years of relevant, international financial or operational restructuring experience gained in consulting, private equity, banking or industry
• Master's degree in the fields of finance from a reputable university or business school
• Exceptional entrepreneurship to find and implement creative solutions, energy and drive to solve complex problems as well as resilience during distressed situations
• Ability to build, review and refine financial models quickly and accurately
• Fluent Dutch and English, another European language is a plus
• Willingness to travel 4 days per week (typ. Mo-Thu)

• Salary in range 100-130K base, bonus 20-60K, other benefits negotiable
