Accountant

Our client is one the leaders in their industry. From their European HQ in Rotterdam they are servicing several local branch offices in continental Europe. To support further growth and to strengthen their team they are seeking to recruit a (Senior) Accountant who is fluent in GREEK.

In this role you will be part of a small team (9 staff) and responsible for the financial accounts for the Greek and German activities; therefore being a real team player is essential.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Prepare the monthly and quarterly management accounts and annual statutory/ local regulatory financial statements and filings.
• Advise and support the CFO and Finance Manager on issues in the field of accounting or reporting relating to the branches and HQ
• Prepare tax filings and coordinate with tax specialists for all branches, assisting with consolidation into HQ
• Supervise local, external, internal, and interim audit processes, being the primary point of contact for auditors
• Proactively recommend improvements to processes and procedures and involvement in their implementation
• Collaborate on projects with the CFO, and senior executives as needed
• Provide assistance with various finance and administrative tasks as needed

• Educated to (minimum) a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
• At least 3/4 years relevnat experience of which some time at Big4 is preferred
• Thorough knowledge of accounting laws and regulations
• Experience with Greek GAAP is strongly preferred, additinal knowledge of German Gaap is nice to have
• Strong MS Office skills and knowledge
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English and Greek, preferably with experience responding to enquiries from stakeholders
• Numerate, well-organized, strong interpersonal and team-working skills, solutions-oriented, self starter, and hands-on
• Willingness to travel abroad as required.
