Our client is a subsidiary trading organization of a large publicly listed American steel producer. From their office in Breda, they primarily operate in the food, automotive, and medical industries (B2B).

The organization combines the strength of an international group with the character of a small, close-knit team. Thanks to a strong inventory position and a customer-focused approach, they are able to deliver quickly, accurately, and on time. The Breda office consists of around 25 colleagues, including four in the finance team. The atmosphere is stable, friendly, and professional, with extensive knowledge and experience across all departments.

Job description

As a Financial Accountant, you are responsible for a wide range of financial tasks within this international organization. You support the Finance Manager and work closely with two other colleagues in the finance team. While these two colleagues handle invoicing, you will act as the right hand of the Finance Manager.
What can you expect from this role?

  • You will manage the administration for seven entities and, together with the Finance Manager, handle the monthly and quarterly closings;
  • You will ensure timely and accurate submission of various declarations, such as VAT and Intrastat;
  • You will prepare financial reports for the American parent company;
  • You will be responsible for invoice verification;
  • You will report on sales figures, inventories, and balance sheet values.

Requirements

The position of Financial Accountant would be a great fit for someone currently working as an Assistant Controller or Financial Officer/Accountant. Experience with independently closing financial statements is not required, but you should be eager to learn. There are clear opportunities for growth, with the potential to succeed the Finance Manager in the future.
Key requirements for this role:
  • MBO / HBO level of education and thinking;
  • Available for at least 32 hours per week;
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in the financial sector, preferably within trade or logistics;
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to maintain oversight;
  • Excellent command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
