Head of Commercial Finance

In 2014, the European journey started with the acquisition of Unilever’s BiFi and Peperami brands. The US-based mother company incorporated the Beef Jerky business, and since then the markets in the EU region have been growing rapidly. You will be working in a scale-up atmosphere, driving commercial finance to the next level as a professional department. You will head a team of professionals, playing a key role in the EMEA Finance Leadership Group.

Your main role is to lead and develop the Commercial Finance team (3 FTE), providing strategic financial insights, supporting profitable growth, and partnering with Sales, Marketing, and Leadership teams to drive commercial efficiency and investment decisions.

Business Partnering with Sales & Marketing

• Act as a key advisor to Sales and Marketing.

• Translate strategies into financials.

• Support pricing, promotions, and trade terms with data-driven recommendations.

Customer & Channel P&L Management

• Own customer and channel P&Ls.

• Ensure full visibility on profitability.

Trade Terms & Investment Control

• Manage accruals, claims, and settlements.

• Drive ROI on promotions and ensure effective spend allocation.

Planning, Forecasting & Performance Management

• Lead commercial inputs into S&OP, forecasts, and budgets.

• Track performance versus budget and forecast; highlight risks and opportunities.

Pricing & Margin Management

• Support pack-price architecture and pricing strategy.

• Monitor COGS, mix, and inflation impacts to ensure sustainable margin delivery.

Revenue Growth Management (RGM)

• Optimize pack-price architecture, promotional strategy, and product mix.

• Balance volume growth with profit delivery through fact-based recommendations.

• MSc in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.

• Minimum 8–12 years of experience in Commercial Finance or FP&A within FMCG consumer markets or Retail.

• Analytical and data-driven, experienced in financial modeling.

• Leadership experience and skilled in partnering with senior stakeholders.

• Proficient in Excel, SAP/Oracle, BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), and planning tools such as Pigment.

• FMCG/retail experience, big plus is German market knowledge and international exposure.

• Proactive, results-oriented, and hands-on.

• Fluent in English, working knowledge of German, conversational Dutch.
