Senior Financial Accountant

We are specialised in equipment management, global logistics, equipment for cloud solutions and equipment for expertise and support. This equipment can vary from mobile devices, ancillary supplies, medical devices and labaratory equipment.

We are based in the Netherlands (Leiden), US and Singapore. You will be member of a small finance team with 5 colleagues. Atmosphere is informal and friendly and you will also be in touch with all other departments and layers in the Emsere organisation. Main reporting language is English, office colleagues are mainly Dutch.

For this specific role, we look for a Senior Financial Accountant that will enhance our global Finance team, ensuring accurate, reliable and up-to-date accounting and reporting.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth financial operations of the organization. Your attention to detail and proficiency in managing complex tasks will be crucial in maintaining accurate financial records and facilitating effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

You are a member of the global Finance team, ensuring accurate, reliable and up-to-date accounting for all global entities on a daily basis. Locally, the Sr. Financial Accountant works closely with the Junior Financial Accountant to coordinate pertinent accounting duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Account Reconciliation and Reporting: Your role will involve the periodic preparation and execution of accounts receivable (AR) status, follow-up, and reconciliations. You will manage batch payments, maintain a cash balance overview, and oversee accounts payable (AP) status and reconciliations. Furthermore, you will be responsible for balanced intercompany accounts, asset transaction management, accrual preparation and posting, and general ledger account analysis and maintenance. Ensuring accurate financial reporting and preparing/reviewing monthly, quarterly, and yearly tax statements will also be within your purview.
   
• Furthermore you will prepare annual statements (statutory accounting) under DutchGAAP.
   
• Communication: In the absence of the financial accountant, you will manage the central Finance mailbox and handle incoming direct calls daily. You will engage in daily discussions regarding execution and processing with global Finance colleagues. Additionally, you will maintain regular contact with global colleagues from other departments and communicate frequently with third parties such as debtors, banks, government entities, and suppliers.
   
• Financial Transaction Processing: You will be responsible for reviewing and processing customer invoicing on a daily and monthly basis, as well as recording daily purchase invoices. Additionally, you will prepare or review payments, including those for online orders, and handle the booking of bank statements. General administration tasks will also be part of your daily duties.

• You demonstrate a solid foundation in paying attention to details. You regularly check your work for errors and inconsistencies, following established processes and guidelines to ensure precision. Furthermore, you strive to improve your attention to detail and are receptive to feedback.
   
• Proficiency in time management is a key characteristic at this level. Additionally, you can delegate tasks when necessary, set realistic deadlines, and handle interruptions and schedule changes with minimal impact on productivity.

• You have experience with finance ERP systems (we work with Odoo) and master regular tools like Excel, Power BI or other BI software.
   
• Knowledge of DutchGAAP / USGAAP is desired
