Regional Financial Controller

This position requires a Dutch speaker. English is the main reporting language. 

Our client is part of a NASDAQ listed Fortune500 company. In Benelux and France, they run a successful logistics operation with over 150 locations and over 2 billion of revenues. They are part of a European network and report consolidated results to the US. 

The regional financial controller will be first point of contact from financial control perspective for all Dutch legal entities. The other financial controllers for the Dutch legal entities will report directly to the regional financial controller. The regional financial controller will also be first point of contact for other departments like HR, sales, procurement, operations and IT. 

Focus point for the regional financial controller will be analyzing / reviewing the figures of the Dutch legal entities, focus on an accurate and timely month-end closing for the group, support internal-/external audits, prepare ad-hoc reports/questions and review the output from Dutch subject matter experts on group level. You will be part of a team of financial controllers and accounting and business control colleagues. The organization offers a lot of growth possibilities and learning curve.

You are a self-motivated individual capable of taking initiative and thriving in this autonomous role. Your key qualities include the following:

• Perform month-end closing for the group and ensure adequate and timely reporting to the US (US GAAP);
• Reviewing the financial administrations Dutch legal entities;
• Closing the monthly figures of Dutch legal entities;
• Analyze balance sheet and P&L accounts and explain deviations;
• Directly managing two financial controllers for the Dutch entities;
• Participate in monthly regional team meetings with other regional responsible colleagues from other finance functions (BC/GL/AP/AR);
• Support internal-/external audits and SOX compliances;
• Supporting the other finance departments and other departments (HR, sales, procurement, operations, IT) as business partner in the monthly questions and ensuring compliance in GAAP on the figures of the Dutch legal entities;
• Become subject matter expert for certain topics for the group reporting and review the output from subject matter experts in de NL financial control team. 
• Be first point of contact for questions from local reporting team and US/EU accounting policy team relating to the Dutch legal entities;
• Drive initiatives to improve closing process and align processes between entities/regions.

•    Master’s degree in a financial discipline, for example Business Administration, Business Economics or Accountancy;
•    5 years+ of relevant work experience within a financial department or an audit firm;
•    Experience in leading small team;
•    Excellent numerical and analytical skills;
•    Solid understanding of local (Dutch) GAAP;
•    Perform as connector within the team as well as with other departments.

• Base salary in range 70-80K
